Treasure Hunting with Joshua
Primary • Ages 5 to 9
July 13 to 17 (5 afternoons)
1:30 PM to 4:30 PM
$312 + GST
The winner of this year's summer camp auction item, Joshua has a treat in store for everyone joining. Students will begin by decorating their own treasure book boxes using collage and acrylic paint, before moving on to making the cornucopia of riches that will nestle inside. Christianne will introduce the group to literature that captures the wonder of finding treasure before we dive into hardcore treasure seeking ourselves.

Campers will start by cooking up their own glycerin soap bars, choosing bespoke scents, colours and treasures to conceal within. We’ve made sure that one of our crafts is regenerative in nature, and using the influence of Frog Belly Rat Bone, students will create treasure as seed paper cards to place on top of soil patches in forgotten places of their neighbourhood. Treasure will bloom with a little water and love.
Across the rest of the week we will hold treasure bag lego model competitions, find hidden puzzle pieces to piece together for a prize upon completion, and treasure hunt in treasure bowls for one-of-a-kind beads to fashion into memory necklaces. Whilst campers will craft a plethora of jewels, we hope they head home knowing that the most valuable treasure of all is their imagination.
