Giving you a peek behind the planning curtain we have to admit that as soon as this title was mentioned, an unstoppable tidal wave of ideas followed.

For those who may be unfamiliar, The Spiderwick Chronicles follows three siblings as they discover a secret world hidden behind an innocuous library shelf. What unravels is a story full of magic, wonder and intrigue that’s endured through decades.

We have a full week to dive into all the things that make this series special, from house sprites to the politics that come with a realm of magical, and sometimes menacing creatures.

Alongside reading key passages from the book, each day we’ll embark upon an incredible craft set to capture attention and harness excitement no matter the age. From a handmade chess set to seeing glass medallions and pressed flower sprites, there’s something for everyone to sink their teeth into.

We’ll pause for breath part way through the week allowing students the opportunity to search for ‘seeing shells’ after a beach picnic lunch where themed nibbles are definitely encouraged.
