Every reader of a wordless book has a different story to tell as they decode the images by accessing different background experiences. In other words, one wordless picture book may inspire a multitude of stories, each quite distinct from the others.

The Lyceum has an enviable collection of wordless books featuring both new perspectives and the classics. Christianne will guide the group through the power of image and explore the layered elements that convey meaning in the absence of words. Campers will have the opportunity to learn the ups and downs of a compelling story arc before using wordless books as inspiration for their own stories. At the end of the week, all stories will be bound as an anthology. We’ll hold time for plenty of practice sessions and drafts will be saved as keepsake progress snapshots. 

Whether they take pride of place as a coffee table read, or are kept safe for future generations on the bookshelf, these story collections are bound to solicit awe and wonder every time you turn their pages.
