As our fall programming starts this week, we want to let you know about a back to school special offer for our Afterschool Literature and Art program. We are offering an additional 15% off the fall term, which works out at $607.75 + GST.  This class is open to ages 5 to 12 and meets on Thursdays from 4PM to 6PM. The fall term runs from September 17 to December 10 (13 sessions).

This special class allows students to explore various art projects over an extended period while accessing the Lyceum's best art materials and Christianne's curated library of stories from around the world. We will begin the term with the art form of collage and the whimsical lyrics of Alice in Wonderland. This is one of our favourite classes as it allows us to engage in some really unique projects. 

In the fall we will be exploring the classic Alice in Wonderland and the art form of collage. To give it a special twist we will create a deck of cards where suits share commonalities, but each card will have an individual characteristic. 

At the Lyceum, we strongly believe in the connection between art and story, and this is a class where we give particular attention to exploring connections between these two forms of expression. Whether it’s through writing symbols in the pattern of a Psyanky egg, embedding meaning in the pattern of a weaving, sharing knowledge through symbols on printed canvas, encoding experience on a talking stick through carving or hiding secret messages in mosaic, the stories of our experience are immortalized in our art as traces of cultural learnings.
