The world of Dungeons and Dragons reaches far and wide, crossing international borders and embracing multiple languages. Accessible to all ages, this form of oral storytelling is sometimes overlooked by mainstream education.
This year, we’re excited to extend the magic of D&D into our regular programming, welcoming new students to join us on epic adventures. Whether you’re continuing with a beloved character or ready to create a brand-new one, our sessions offer a creative and collaborative space to explore. Guided by our resident Dungeon Master, Liam Bevelander, and a host of visiting DMs, we invite you to explore a journey of imagination and camaraderie.
The time together allows students to look at a problem and solve it using character strategy, acting as the perfect balance of chance and creative problem solving. It reinforces the ideals and mission statement of the Lyceum; that we are here to build community and nurture imagination through story.
Stretching themselves as storytellers allows participants to live the underlying structure of the story. It underscores the importance of oral literacy and members are forced to find ways to create permanence with an art form that is inherently fluid. We have a well stocked resource base for crafting terrain, accessories and maps, so there is no end to the creative road that lies ahead.
Note: This class would be for those with a basic working knowledge of D&D and will be capped at 7 students so make sure you don’t miss out.
