Another staple in the Lyceum’s summer schedule, this camp will arm your preschooler with stories from the most influential children’s authors/illustrators, or authorstrators. We’ll cover classic favourites from Mo Willems to Lois Elhert, Leo Lionni to Rosemary Wells with Christianne highlighting their different styles and artistic sensibilities. This year we will also take time to explore the works of Helen Oxenbury, a British authorstrator who is somewhat of a treasure when it comes to children’s literature.

Those of you who have ever attended programs with our youngest Lyceum-goers, will know the immersive experience that Christianne provides in her storytelling sessions as she shares her favourites from each authorstrator.

We’ll examine the art style of all five authorstrators, exploring what unique characteristics define each of them, before campers try their hand at creating images in the same style. During this week, students hone their tastes as they learn to identify which styles resonate with their growing exposure to art.
