The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
Preteen & Teen • Ages 10+
July 24 to 28 (five evenings)
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
$295 + GST
Perhaps a Shakespeare work that is explored slightly less often, Julius Caesar is by no means any less significant. We’ll spend the week being guided through this tragedy by Christianne, reading the intricate details and deconstructing quotes we still use today that inform our understanding of governance. Using our newly found understanding of the play will inform the art project we’ll spend time working on. Each student will be given the opportunity to craft a Roman-inspired clay relief wall hanging. These art pieces are something that contain a great deal of detail and embody symbols from the play that will help us remember the lessons Shakespeare taught through his mirror on human nature.
Note: This class will include an evening trip to Bard on the Beach’s production of Julius Caesar (July 28). It is our intent to see the play, pending availability, so please let us know if you’d like to join this excursion when you register.
