Harry Potter Meets Dobby
FRIDAY, MARCH 18, 2022
9:00 AM TO 4:30 PM
AGES 5 TO 13
No Spring Break schedule (especially not the Lyceum’s) is complete without the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts. With each year that passes our knowledge of Rowling’s Wizarding World deepens and we’re confident of our expertise in the field. To round out our first week, campers will fashion their own version of arguably the cutest character in Rowling’s closet…Dobby. We’ll use Sculpey for face, torso and arms to make sure he has perfect house elf proportions, not neglecting the all important sock and accompanying book, detailing the importance of clothing to a house elf’s freedom. Christianne will share Dobby’s iconic lesson to Harry involving one over-iced cake and Lucius Malfoy’s famous error where he frees his house elf in an attempt to shame Harry. Bring your own special sock or choose from a stash started by the Lyceum elf and look on in amazement as this craft transforms from simple wall ornament to other-worldly friend. Weather permitting, we'll play Quidditch at the Almond Park pitch.
Harry Potter's summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a house-elf called Dobby, and rescue from the Dursleys by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car! Back at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors - and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone ...Dobby's sinister predictions seem to be coming true.
