Jemimah and Reuben's Diary of a Wimpy Kid
FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 2022
9:00 AM TO 4:30 PM
AGES 6 TO 13
Every year at our autumn fundraiser the Lyceum donates a "plan your own Spring Break program" auction item. This year Jemimah and Reuben were the lucky recipients and they have planned the best of days to wrap up our 2022 Spring Break lineup.
Greg Heffley finds himself desperately searching for maturity; thrust into the hallways of a new school where kids are taller, mouthier, and meaner, he wonders whether having sidekick Rowley with him is going to be enough. Participants will walk the halls with Greg, diving into craft cupboards full to the brim with grade A materials. As a group, we’ll work on Twisted Wizard zen doodle posters and bound miniature comics, letting the creativity flow over into extra credit. We’ll snack on sculpted cheese, unique to the mouths it will feed, as well as honing our skills for bread and butter thank-you letters complete with their own origami envelope. Aiming to end our week with a strike, Christianne will lead the class in crafting a game of miniature bowling, with wimpy kid characters on pins. Will yours be strong enough to withstand it all…there’s only one way to find out!
It's a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you're ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.
In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley''s star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend's newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.
