Slowing Down An Evening of Discussion and Art for Parents October 19, 2017 – 7:00PM – $30 + GST
You’ve become a master of balancing your family’s schedule. You can drop off and pick up with military precision. You’re planning birthday parties and organizing play dates like a pro. But when it comes to helping your child manage thwir anxiety and working with them to build a sense of self-worth, you feel like you’re fumbling your way down a long, dark hallway. Here’s the good news — you’re not alone.
We’re inviting parents to join us for a very special evening of open-ended discussion centred on helping your child slow down, stay present, and develop a sense of personal efficacy in their communities. Over a glass of wine, we want to pool our collective wisdom and talk about our experiences, concerns and the helpful strategies we’ve encouraged on our parenting journeys. We’ll also dip into the rich resource of the Lyceum’s library, sharing personalized book recommendations to help spark family discussions, and keep them going.
After our initial conversation, we’ll move to the art tables, where we can keep talking informally while working on small raw wool felting projects. Because you’re an amazing parent and you deserve to slow down, and nurture your own creativity, too.
